Barrhaven Child Care Centre has more than 30 years of experience; we are a Non-Profit Organization and a Registered Charity which is operated by a voluntary Board of Directors of professionals from the Community. We offer high-quality licensed child care programs for children ranging from 18 months – 13 years of age. Our qualified staff are experienced in providing an environment for children that encompasses all the domains of their learning and development.

Our Centre is located in the safe and beautiful neighbourhood of Barrhaven, Ottawa. We provide a comfortable and friendly environment to our children with large and spacious program rooms filled with natural bright light; each program has its own entrance with easy access to the play yards. All our play yards are fenced and annually inspected. We provide parking space for Pick and drop off of our children attending the centre.
Our Centre offers the Extended Day Program for families whose children attend Mary Honeywell Elementary School. We are Third Party Operators, which offers this program on behalf of the Ottawa Carleton District School Board. We have two room allocated in the Child Care Centre exclusively for School Age Programs. These two programs are delivered in an “After School Club” format.
Our programs have been planned to promote all areas of development for the children. Daily schedules and program plans are posted in the various playrooms to inform the parents of continuing education activities the children will partake in throughout the week. These plans allow for indoor and outdoor, quiet and active play, self-directed and structured time to enable the child to develop in all areas. We provide nutritious meals to our children prepared in our fully functional kitchen by our own cook.Â
We document and re-evaluate the environment and learning strategies, so that we remain current and up to date with the requirements of the childcare sector in the province of Ontario.

Barrhaven Child Care Centre uses the City of Ottawa Child Care Registry and Waitlist (CCRAW). Families must register on CCRAW, as the Centre does not maintain a separate waitlist. Spot availability is determined based on the CCRAW waitlist.

Once your child is selected from the CCRAW waitlist, the Centre will contact you about available spaces in the appropriate program. Upon enrollment, families will receive an enrollment package and the Parent Handbook detailing the Centre’s policies.
